Work groupchat got a text this morning from our manager that the district manager has declared no sitting AT ALL behind the register and anyone he finds sitting is fired on the spot. My manager doesn’t care at all but he also doesn’t want to lose any team members so he’s made us put away the one chair we kept behind the register. We all keep and follow a rule of no sitting while customers are in the store which makes complete sense to me. But no sitting at all? During a shift where basically my only task is to help customers and I get maybe 5 customers per shift. So I am just putting unnecessary strain on my feet and legs for no reason. I know this is a common issue in workplaces so I am curious to see other people’s thoughts or if you’ve ever been able to…
My former manager is stalking me at work
I (25/m) have been working at an emissions testing place since September early on the manager was fired for assaulting me. I found out through the new manager today that the old manager has been coming by taking pictures and sending them to the owners and keeping track of what we do and texting the owner. The owner is ignoring it claiming he's not gonna do anything violent where as I don't feel safe at work entirely now. I think tommorow I'm gonna try and get a restraining order on my previous manager.

I will never let my emotional or mental health decline because I “should be with a company and be dedicated to them no matter what”. People need to stop being guilt tripped into thinking they must stay at a company their whole life. I say, if you aren’t benefitting from them, screw it. It’s time to start asking what the employer can do for us before committing.
So our entire department has had major IT issues. I cannot do much of anything. Direct managers cannot help. I take it up with upper management again. I have been to everybody that I can, including HR. I am asking for the ability to work. That is it. Today, in a meeting with just me and upper management, I was told that “I get nothing, because I do not play the back scratching game good enough and IT does not owe me a favor” So I asked, “I still get paid” that is when he lost it, saying I am only here for the money. Why else why I be there. It would just make my day easier having the ability, Why tell me I get nothing, when I get paid? I wanted to point out he was wrong, I do not play the game at all. In order to…
