Hi, mandatory not from US and warning that english is not my mother language. in july 2022 i started working on a project as a temporary government employee, this project heappens in my country every 10 years, normally the job would be done in 4 or 5 months, but we haven't finished the job yet, even after 7 months from the moment that i started working and 8 months that the project started. I was hired to manage a team, I was given zones that my team would go around door to door doing their work, my role is to help them with any queries, be their tech support and check their work after they're done, well, we suffered with the lack of personnel and setbacks from the beginning, and the great political-government hostility that grew in my country and the organization did not help, from the very beginning we…

Is WFH Crossing the Picket Line?
I work for a small manufacturing company in IT and I could absolutely see the plant workers for us striking, or at least they should strike, in the near future. I'm imagining the scenario where that happens and I have to tell my boss that I won't cross the picket line, but I think the first thing he'd ask me is to work from home. I'm fairly certain the answer is yes, it is, but I felt it was an interesting question to ponder. I'd also like to see any arguments that might help me convince my boss that just because I'm not physically crossing the line doesn't mean I'm not crossing the picket line.
“Does the Fed chairman really mistakenly believe that wages are driving inflation? If not, Powell — a mega-wealthy private equity mogul and a Republican — might have just validated an argument long made by progressives: that a key driver of the central bank’s interest rate policies is actually to suppress labor power.” https://www.levernews.com/the-fed-declares-war-on-workers/#:~:text=Does%20the%20Fed,suppress%20labor%20power.
Corporate slaves layoffs aftermath …
A job I had a year ago, mercilessly fired me for “negativity.” Mind you I was bullied constantly by three of my coworkers. Even after only being there a couple weeks, I couldn’t make any mistakes or I was scrutinized. So I kept to myself mostly. Just did my job, was polite and helpful with clients, I showed up on time, did what was asked best I could, got paid, and went home. I found out that the girl I replaced had also been fired too because she, as a coworker would constantly remind us, “was an idiot.” They would constantly make fun of this poor girl that I had apparently replaced. This also, aside from how I was treated, put a really bad taste in my mouth. But I figured as long as I do my job, don’t complain, and keep my head down I’d be fine. Nope. I…
Let’s show some optimism.
Maybe all of the political/financial turmoil we are experiencing is just the governments attempt to get us riled up enough to care again. Americans are typically slow to start on the collective-action front, ie every major conflict we didn’t start. So maybe the ruse is that the republicans are showing us the limits of the institutions we have taken for granted for so long in order to empower the younger generations to take action. We as a society will never know our boundaries or overcome them if we don’t learn what the boundary is.
