Like the title says. I work in England as a cook in a fast food restaurant and today, after a not-too-great closing shift yesterday (which she knew the reasons for, and the reasons were out of my control), I got a message from one of my colleagues saying that our manager had told him that she was 'going to test [me] for improvement for the next 1-2 weeks' and if I don't meet her expectations, she will fire me. The only problem with this is that I have heard almost no complaints whatsoever from her to me. Last year California passed a law requiring companies to disclose salary ranges. So far most of the job listings on dice and recruiter emails I get don't list salary. It's so frustrating that most companies won't follow this law at least in the tech world. I wonder how you report companies for not following this law in California or if this law just won't be enforced.
YAY NO WORK! Oh wait…. Oh no…
TW: slight trigger warning of mental illness & self-harm/addiction Been applying to hundreds of jobs in and out of my industry. Rejections, ghostings, etc all that. It's discouraging and has been hitting me hard lately. Cried a few times and wanted to engage in self destructive behavior. I didn't engage though. (Yay me) It's nice having all this free time. Been fixating on playing genshin impact but my fixation is slowly dwindling. I'm a reader & crafter but the slow creeping of not doing anything or going anywhere has been creeping into my mind. I'm slowly becoming susceptible to my mental illness. I have a good combo of education & experience, but nothing is clicking. I hear the whole “so many jobs, not enough people” for my industry. I'm exhausted and tired.
You can’t tell me skilled workers don’t exist at this level.
I would love for you to leave me alone
