So my partner works at Ross, recently we noticed that she was off this entire week on the schedule. Upon calling her manager about this, she found out it was due to a suspension. This was because (my partner is also new to the job, only a month and a half in) the manager took my partner along side her for secret shopping throughout other locations. Apparently the manager was supposed to give paper work for my partner to sign before secret shopping but failed to do so. Come to find out her suspension was deemed as stealing hours. When asking manager to admit her mistake to the higher ups, she responded saying she didn’t want to get in trouble. Should I feel guilty?
So I work 40hr a week and have a decent schedule in which I get off early in the day but start really early too. I have an appointment coming up that is scheduled for 20 minutes before my shift ends. I asked my boss if I could simply work an extra 30 minutes the day before and leave 30 minutes early the day after to still get my 40 hours in. He said I should just take a half day which would use half a day of my 10 vacation days. I said I didn't want to do that and I don't wanna take a half day off for just 30 minutes of missed work.
