How bad is this commission structure for my new job? Base salary is 37k. I was told I could do 30-40% commission but it seems like all my co workers barely hit 10. To me it seems like 30-40% seems almost impossible with this structure

May be unpopular opinion, I really enjoyed working in high school.

I even tried to get the work permit for people 14/15 years old when I was in high school (turned out to be too much of a hassle and the restrictions were very tight plus I couldn't drive so I dropped it). It gave me something to do, I met a bunch of new people and genuinely didn't worry too much about it. I loved it and I loved having extra spending money to go out with friends (don't like to mooch off parents). I'd mow neighbor's lawns since I was 13/14 which gave me a lot of freedom to spend at a younger age and I wanted something more consistent than once a week. When my sport wasn't in season, it'd be pretty boring most of the time. I'd have time after work to finish my 0-3hrs of homework and game with the boys until 10. Say what you…

hi, i posted about the suspicious vehicle yesterday parked in front of my workplace. i have a question.

my girlfriend who is also working in the same facility as me came with me to the staff meeting & shortly was told by our manager (in front of some co workers) that she “had to leave” & “wasn’t allowed to be in the meeting due to confidentiality”. is this even allowed? she never signed anything or was told otherwise. she’s been off for about a month due to her ankle surgery date coming up soon but is still an employee. i gave my manager my gf’s doctors note almost two weeks ago & she told me “she didn’t have to come to the meeting”. she never told me she COULDNT come. i briefly spoke to her after the meeting (obvi i’m pissed) & she completely twisted it on me & gaslit me saying she did tell me but i know for a damn fact she did NOT. i would…

Job wants me to take a position I don’t want?

To preface is my first job out of college, I have been working for this company for about a year. I’ve been working toward a certain role but the one they want me to go for requires a lot of travel. Do I technically have to say yes?

Why does every single job require insane experience?

After a year of employment I just got my hours reduced to nothing so I'm looking for a new job. Why does every single place require ridiculous amounts of experience? What would normally be entry level is requiring two or more years experience. Where am I supposed to get experience if no one will hire me?

Staying overnight due to snowstorms, nanny edition

I feel like I've seen a couple posts on here about how when there is a predicted winter snow storm, employers will tell their employees to stay the night at their job as to avoid the roads. This is always met with ridicule, rightly so. Well as a nanny, I'm seeing this play out in real time, and I'm truly baffled. Where I live there have been several winter storms in the past three weeks in a major metro area varying from subzero temps to ice and snow storms. Every time these are forecasted, our local nanny groups blow up on how to proceed. Today's storm rolls around and in our current discussion, multiple nannies were willing and open to staying the night at their employers house to ensure they can work the next day and avoid a bad commute. No one blinked an eye at these proposals and were…
