Went through 6 rounds of remote interviews over 3+ months. In the final interview, out of nowhere, I was degraded and accused of cheating. To say my jaw dropped is an understatement. I thought the interviewer was joking. No, they told me they literally wanted to see my room because they thought I had notes hanging up! Supposedly I kept periodically looking off into one corner, which I do occasionally because my ADHD kicks in and I choose an area to focus on, so he assumed I was “cheating”. Our whole lives we've been told to go to college, get a job and everything will work out fine. That's the biggest lie ever told to the general public. As the the title above says I'm 27, went to university and got my Bachelor's and Masters degree in an environmental field. I'm now at the point where I can no longer afford to live despite my “advanced qualifications” and having a “respectable job”. As far as I'm concerned capitalism and the government have failed my generation, you work your whole life away for nothing in return. I'd appreciate any UK specific advice on what to do, especially as theres snow outside right now and I'm scared.

An opportunity came up and 3 months ago I quit my full time job to work as a sole trader. I work for myself and make just enough money to survive and it has changed everything. I have no “boss”, can't be late, and can essentially do what I want. I work 2 very intense days and the rest of the week is free to pursue whatever I please. For the first time in years I have been able to slow my life down and enjoy the majority of the week. It put a lot in perspective, mostly how much of a bum deal it was working all day for pennies.
