No amount of changing or “fixing” your lobbies, prices, workplace presentation, and performance standards will fix the fact that you lack good structure and respect in the workplace. You perpetuate a poor culture by being complacent. This has been one of the most damaging, toxic places I've ever had the privilege to step foot in, and I'm in a really good office. No matter who I meet who has worked for and currently works in USPS, there is always a unanimous feel of despair or anger towards USPS. The only one's who soak it up and enjoy it are from a time before us, or they are the one's who participate in creating a toxic environment. It's rare to find someone who is even 90% happy they work for USPS, who is not a narcissist, bordering a narcissist, or who is trapped feeling like they have “to just deal with…

Why not switch jobs?
Why do people languish in the same shitty job for so long? How come people aren’t constantly applying for new jobs while they have an income in search of something that pays better? Zip recruiter is a very efficient website. I recently found myself without a job as I quit my job of 4 years making 76k for one that seemed much better making 89k plus a yearly discretionary bonus of 10-15k plus all my gas paid for and other perks. The job I had was stable, but I had outgrown it and my happiness was diminished there. Within 2 1/2 months I was let go from that job for unknown reasons I suspect they hired up for a few projects that fell through but there were some other signs of instability in other ways such as the owner and his wife bringing their marital baggage and fighting into the…
I work for the most bullshit security company out there, allied universal. and I just found out that after being one of the ones that actually worked yesterday for mlk day while mostly everyone else was at home. I DONT GET HOLIDAY PAY FOR IT.
What do you think would stop it?
UPDATE: After overwhelming support from the community, APD has arrested a suspect in this case. https://t.co/OG4z7a5m0T— Auburn WA Police Dept (@AuburnWAPolice) January 17, 2023
Interviewer Shocked
Phone HR Interviewer: what's your age? Me: i dont know, is that even relevant? (sarcastic tone) Interviewer: yes Me: ok, you can put there 18. (Im in my 40s by the way) Interviewer: are you sure? Me: yeah! Clearly this line of questioning is ridiculous don't you think? Interviewer: ah ok… (proceeds to wrap up the call) Me: ok, thanks. Less than 5 min interview done.
Lost my shit today.
Has anyone just hit a point with a co worker and just absolutely lose their shit on them? I work in dental, in the back clinic working on patients all day. There’s one other assistant who shares the same amount of experience as myself (10+ years) then there’s a new hire, an 18 year old who has the bare minimum experience. He can’t do the long, back breaking appointments because he’s not trained so me and the other girl take on the bulk of the schedule. Day in and day out this gets fucking exhausting having such a small staff and only two people to carry 99% of the workload. Today I asked him to do records on my patient so I wouldn’t have to get stuck uploading photos and what not when I could be starting their appointment. He goes “why?” I say “what do you mean WHY? I…
This job, is going to make me scream
So- Just some stuff from a company I've worked at for a year now. – My current supervisor is abrasive and harsh and takes things personally when I attempted to consider her and her tiredness by not asking her about something. (I thought if it was important she'd bring it up) only to be told she “Didn't appreciate” that I thought she seemed annoyed so I decided not to ask about the thing – We're allowed 6 days out the entire year (3 absences every 6 months) to be absent (But she's trying to protect her time to spend with her family) – 90-day probation for new hires I just registered for school, I'm gonna save ALL my money and just quit (and work like other shifts until I find another part time job)
