Before the new year I had a breakdown and stopped showing up to work. I had a few issues with management and staff and they were aware. It took me a couple of weeks to recover and get in the right frame of mind and I was planning on taking my uniform and explaining the situation/apologizing but I received my paystub today and they dropped my pay to minimum wage. I am paid hourly so it was two days that I worked at $15 an hour. Is this legal?

So I work in a physically demanding field. I've been with the company about 5 years. 7 years ago, I had a back injury that left me with long term pain and effects. This has always been known to my employer as I occasionally had to take time off due to pain (always personal/vacation/sick/unpaid depending on what i had available. I never filed a workers comp claim because the initial injury didn't happen at work.) I've been working full time for the entirety of my time here, but a few months ago, I decided to go part time. My back pain was getting unbearable and my chiropractor told me I'll never fully heal in this line of work and recommend I shift careers. A family member insisted I file for partial unemployment. I filled out the initial paperwork a month ago, but never bothered claiming. I'm looking for a new…
I recently left my full time job, to take a promotion at my part time job. The workload was lighter but relocating meant I couldn’t keep my former FT job as PT. Loss of income. My current FT job has annual raises and it’s about that time. I was told I wasn’t eligible for the raise because I just received one…. I disagreed, I was promoted not given a raise. AITA for this argument ? I took on a whole new position with increased responsibilities. I didn’t get paid more to do the same job.
A non-compete clause is a contractual term between an employer and a worker that typically blocks the worker from working for a competing employer, or starting a competing business, within a certain time or proximity. They are already considered difficult to enforce at best, but a lawyer friend said to expect a lot of lobbying and pushback from corporations. You can provide your thoughts here.
I’ve been in my current corporate job for almost a year. Love it. Never call in sick. Work weekends at times, definitely more than 8-5. Coworkers and I all get along, and even the clients I work with sing my praises. If there’s an issue, I address it. I worked on times I was off. I’m not perfect, but my results are positive. Issue: Im getting married in a few months and do not have enough PTO for the trip. I asked my team lead if I could arrange a weekend-heavy schedule, go negative on PTO, etc. he essentially shrugged and said no. Nothing could be done. This job means a lot to me, and I love what I do. But this is pushing me over the edge. It was so callous, and this was after multiple people sung my praises to him. Im not wanting to leave, it this…
