I just want to make it very clear that this only works when the Federal Reserve hasn't managed to shrink the economy to be easily filled by available workers. It almost never happens that there is almost no unemployment, or that there are excess jobs. You guys will suggest just dropping a job like a hot potato, but in 6 months, or a year, there won't be any jobs. There'll be unemployment. At that point, employers are going to start ratcheting down on people again. So, what are your suggestions going to be then, when the interest rate hikes finally dissipate any excess jobs and create some unemployment?

guy gets fired, goes with style
As the title says, company sent a document that requires her signature to take $900 out of her last paycheck. She told them she wouldn’t sign it, that it’s their fault, and that there’s a law in California about overpayment protecting the worker over the company. Anything we’re missing? Do you think a giant company would try and get $900 out of us some other way? The company has been scummy the whole time she’s been here and we should’ve foreseen some kind of negligence or stunt, but here we are. Any hints, tips, or tricks to stick it to these guys on her last week?

Job Jumpers
Hi everyone, I’m starting a podcast called JOB JUMPERS. Over the years I have lost count of how many jobs I’ve had, ones that I’ve only worked a day, no-call no-showed, never came back from my lunch break, made up bullshit excuses etc. For a long time I felt like something was wrong with me, that I just don’t fit into most workplaces, or that I’m incapable of functioning on the same level as everyone else. But over the last few years I’ve realized that most of the jobs I’ve had have in fact, been total bullshit. And I was right in leaving them. This podcast is for everyone who has been through the same thing, and I know a lot of my fellow anti-workers have. I want to talk to the fuck-ups, the failures, the disappointments, etc. I want to hear your funniest job related stories, and I want…
Too scared to ask for more hours
I work part time as an AP clerk, and whenever our office manager doesn’t come in, I don’t come in. She’s been having car trouble and has been working from home a lot lately, which means my paychecks are tiny. I was also recently told I need to be more professional, code for I talk too much, so I’m scared if I ask for more hours it’ll lead into another talk about professionalism and leave me feeling like crap. Or worse, fired. Unemployment is not an option.
Is it normal for interviews to be fake?
I got ghosted today for a lifeguard interview. I think an automated robot or something scheduled me for interview and a human never saw it. I just hate when they say there is a lifeguard shortage when it seems no one is looking at applications at a lot of these companies and American Pool is telling people to show up for fake interviews. I had a dual email alert and texts telling me to show up for this interview. Do they keep fake jobs up to get benefits or something? I am a notary supposed to have integrity as a notary and don't appreciate burning my time to be part of someone's scam to say they can't find employees so they get money from government.
Long post, sorry. Important context: I'm currently on a waiting list for an ADHD assessment. I took steps to initiate the referral after I was let go from my previous job. I hadn't passed my probation despite two extensions and in the field I work in (veterinary), untreated ADHD unfortunately meant I was a liability. I don't begrudge that employer for letting me go and they have said that I'm welcome back once I have a treatment plan in place. Anyway, for this role, I interviewed for a full-time receptionist in another vet surgery. I was open and up-front with them about my current circumstances because I wanted them to be aware that my brain works differently and I need to do things in a particular way to be efficient. They seemed understanding and appreciated my honesty, and I did a couple hours of shadowing a couple of days later.…
