I was called off a scheduled shift with less than 24 hours notice. Called them out with state law and demanded my paycheck reflect the predictability pay thus owed. They immediately backtracked, revoking the cancellation. Is this allowed? (In CT).
Yes, having a website with imagery that makes sense to the audience is important. And yes, SEO matters a whole lot.

As most of us know the US has the shittiest healthcare system ever. Minimum wage should be at $30 an hour and since we are no where close to that many of us are living paycheck to paycheck. So how the hell are we gonna pay for healthcare? We don’t. I haven’t had healthcare in years and it’s just the norm for me now. I went to the hospital for the first time a few months back and I almost had pneumonia. I’m happy that I went but I also left with a $700 med bill. I still haven’t had a chance to pay it. I don’t have a doctor so I have no one to diagnose me. But I’m beginning to believe that I have a weak immune system due to the fact that I’m getting sick a lot. I genuinely just don't understand how people keep doing it. I feel like I'm at the end of my rope. Last year in January I made an attempt on my life due to financial struggles and working so many jobs that wore on my body and mind. I am still struggling. Just got the ER bill, a year later. It's due this month a day after my birthday lol. It's not as bad as some of the bills I've seen on here but it's definitely a bank breaker for me. Does anyone have any advice on how to cope with the feeling of defeat and hopelessness? Is there any hope for the future? I'm burned the fuck out.
Employee of the year is a joke
2022 was coming to an end, and that means it was time for… (drum roll please) the announcement of the Employee of the Year (along with a few other things). This time, however, in the back of my head, I was thinking that maybe, just maybe, I might be awarded, since I only missed 2 days throughout the year, and I thought I delivered a decent customer experience. But then again, I knew the odds were against me, since there are many other employees in other departments who also worked really hard. The time of the announcement came. The store manager grabbed his mic. “And the Employee of the Year award goes to… Jenny!” I was shocked. Dumbfounded. A few people clapped,…
This is my first time supporting someone as a union rep. It was an absence review that was pretty damning. We got the best possible outcome. I am over the MOON.
