Counterproductive to Capitalism
Fox Business – 1/5/2022 – elites push for workers to have less power in the workplace”Employees have more leverage over employers than they've ever had and it's kind of counterproductive to capitalism” pic.twitter.com/I88UOJcbkC— CaseStudyQB (@CaseStudyQB) January 5, 2023
I tried for years to get a raise
I’ve been with the same organization for almost 10 years. Typical situation with non-profits…pay you little salary and work you to death. Every time I’d ask for a raise I’d get the excuse that they didn’t have the money or “that’s just how non-profit works”. 8 years in, and after having to take on other tasks when people would leave the org (at this point I’m doing 3 peoples job with no additional money) I wrote a strong letter to my boss basically saying I needed to be paid X amount of money or else I would resign. I gave them 3 weeks to decide. Boss came back and said they would have to do a market salary analysis and they’d get back to me. I said okay. 3 weeks later they gave me the exact salary I was asking for without showing me the market results. Interesting. I’m confident…
Thank you for taking the time to read. I am truly upset and don’t really have anyone to vent to or get advice from. I’ve been at my job for a year and our team is composed of about 15 other level 1 employees. All of my performance reviews and KPI reviews have come back amazing. I have not gotten any corrective actions and I come to work, I work hard, and I work efficient. This is a remote job. My supervisor continues to pile more and more work on me even though I feel that I am performing at a level 2 already. I would volunteer for things, I still help train people when they need, and I seek out difficult tasks. Well I stopped about 2 months ago when I called my supervisor out for overlooking me to learn new work streams. She could not give me a…
Apparently they 'didn't forsee' us struggling with the workload, despite us telling them numerous times that it wouldn't be manageable.
I only made it 30 minutes into my shift
I walked out. I’ve told my boss I’m not happy and given plenty of time/ ways to make it better. I ask to be treated better and instead, get treated worse. I will not be treated poorly anymore. Please give my your best job walk out stories!
Disclaimer: I take responsibility for not researching enough and not requiring everything in writing, so I am not saying I legally should be paid, but I just wanted to share this story where my ex-employer clearly did not act in good faith. So I was let go end of September. I live in an European country, where you have a 3 month notice period if employer terminates my employment. It is 1 month if an employee gives notice. I have lived in this country for two years, so I definitely am not familiar with all the details of the employment law. My employment contract follows a spesific law for white-collar workers, so the contract itself does not spesify all the terms but refers back to the law. Anyway, my managers (owners of the company) let me go over a video call, and said that if I wish to quit working…
