This job has zero benefits. Zero health, zero PTO, absolutely nothing. Still i loved this job. The owner ended up coming unglued over a misunderstanding. I didn't appreciate his tone, so when he started asking questions I became brutally honest. Basically told him that if he couldn't afford to pay people a living wage he shouldn't be an employer. He screamed that he cares for all of his employees. I said I didn't believe him. He stormed off, only to return several hours later with my final paycheck. Baby's due on 13th. Tight.

TLDR: we know these people do not deserve a business, please help us defend ourselves from mistreatment if possible. we are all desperate. Illinois. me and my coworkers are part of a union. do we have legal or union grounds to stand on to take some type of action? 6 employees total, only 4 in the building. My boss's wife is the listed owner of the franchise, while my boss is the only one who comes into the office. their daughter is employed by them, too, yet she's never in the office. the rest of us have only been employed for closer to 1 year than 5 due to turnover. literally every day, sometimes multiple times every hour, my boss' disabled wife and daughter call seeking to ask him to do something, which he regularly argues and refuses to do. if he doesn't answer right away his wife will keep…
