Can’t “Properly” Fall Apart
Going to be a bit long. Demanding job is making me physically ill and there's no way I can hide it anymore. I make payment cards. I have no days off. The days I do get off are conditonal (work two weeks + X to get a day off). Otherwise, no weekends, no holidays. No PTO, but sick leave and wellbeing allows for a little over two weeks total of time off. I work two machines (where most coworkers only work one), and essentially have to fill in the roles of four other people because they simply don't maintain the machines on their shifts. They're only 8 hour shifts and honestly nothing compared to what I've seen here, but I have no day to distance myself. I've been employed for 1.5 years here, and the workload is getting increasingly worse. I'm also given some of the most complicated work because…
The reality is that it’s not at all a personality conflict. It’s me not being willing to tolerate disrespect. It’s me not being willing to be SCREAMED AT by a man who makes sexist jokes and thinks it’s okay to talk to people like we are dogs. It’s me not being willing to accept that he literally told me I’m just a number to him. I tried to go to his boss. Ya know, exactly like HR told me to do. I emailed him Saturday. No response. Come in on Tuesday and get a call that a spot opened up across the street, but a different district. Different boss. She seems chill, but they all do at first. So obviously what happened is his boss called him, laughed off my complaints and decided to move me. Didn’t correct any of the issues, just move the one who’s making waves about…

How do I improve an existing union?
I was fortunate enough to get a job at a company that already has a union, which sounded great, but after working there, the union doesn't seem to help with much. I was initially told that our store had a union steward, but there's no information available about who they might be or how to contact them. The union office seems really understaffed, it's only open two days a week for limited hours, and many of my coworkers are working during those times, and thus can't visit the office to access any resources. I had expected to recieve some kind of paperwork with more information about the union, like a welcome packet or something? But I never got one. Supposedly, the union rep visits the store occasionally, but I've never met him, and he doesn't announce visits in advance, because I would be willing to stop by on my day…
Title and more information below. I feel like this isn't fair and my employer didn't even try to get my side of the story or understand fully what happened. I also don't think it is fair grounds to fire someone based on what actually happened. Please let me know your thoughts. Summary below. Context: this happened between me and another co worker who I've worked closely with for 2 years and we had plenty of crude/ joking conversations before. This also happened at a holiday party where there was an open bar and lots of intoxication. I approached employee X (who I hadn't talked to all night yet) and apparently said “Hey fuck you, we aren’t friends” to which he replied “I don't have time for your shit, get the fuck out of my face”. Employee X and I were in fact friends with each other and if that is…
