i feel like when i started working (less than 10years ago) the consensus was you just put your time off requests in and it was the managers job to find coverage for the shifts you would miss. but it seems almost entirely now to be that the responsibility is put on the employee to find coverage. at least this seems to be the case for shift work/entry level stuff.

Who could have foreseen? /s With billionaires behind bars, we could easily end economic necromancy and corporate slavery.

Having everyone work out of a survivalist mindset is the most distressing, conflict-creating way to run a society. Today, we call this capitalism and say that if we didn’t work this way, no one would be motivated to innovate or help those around them.

Who else remembers when that one programmer on here wrote an algorithm that filled out infinite, bogus job apps for Kellogg’s when they tried to hire scabs to cover for the striking workers? Lolololol
