According to the Financial Times, Millennials in the US and the UK are the first generation that doesn't follow the old pattern which predicts that people tend to vote conservatives / republicans as they get older. In fact, survey data shows that having reached political maturity in the aftermath of the global financial crisis, millennials are tacking much further to the left on economics than previous generations did, favouring greater redistribution from rich to poor. The fastest interview ever
So when I was still looking for a job, I had an interview for a fast food chain. I had an appointment at 8am and I showed up in time, but I found out at that moment that it was some kind of speed-dating interview and we were roughly 50 interviewees. I waited TWO hours and 45 minutes on my chair waiting for my name to be called and at that point I was so fed up that I gave all the wrong answers on purpose (such as saying I was very slow and messy) and the interview lasted approx. 2 minutes tops. The next day, I receive an email saying I'm hired, like a big “welcome to the family, we're waiting for you on monday!” kind of message which makes me drop my job searches for a while… … but just a couple of hours later I then receive…

He lost his mind and said he was the manager and she was like calm the fuck down you are a 50 year manager at a Dunkin Donuts and you barely make more than I do you ain't that important and it isn't something worth being an asshole for and it doesn't make you better than me I am going to MIT on a full ride this spring; and you are not better than anyone else here. You could literally see his ego and sense of self-worth melt away. And I am standing there like this dude just…
Thought this was fitting.
editing details for anonymity Hey… so I am new at a job. It seems a bit performative in terms of diversity inclusion — 1 glance at upper mgmt says it all. I thought I was losing my mind the 1st time I saw a Pepe reaction to a post. Figured out how to search the reactions & there are dozens of Pepes. (For some reason my text deleted w/ my 1st attempt at posting this so I will put the screenshot in the comments.) Folks use Pepe all the time in the work chat & I find it disturbing. How do ppl not know that Pepe was co-opted by far right extremists years ago? Is this on purpose? Am I silly to be concerned? Help… what can I do next?
