So I work at a restaurant/bar, and today we've noticed an unbearable stench of dead animal. We've pinpointed it in the ceiling, and we called the owner to ask what to do about it. He said we wants to remove it himself and that we have to wait until tomorrow because he's out of town. The smell is making our employees nauseous and the kitchen unbearable to work in. We're worried about the smell wafting into the dining area, getting in the food, etc. It's obviously a biohazard. Our boss is definitely not a pest control expert and we should be closing the kitchen but we're stuck working through it until he gets around to it. I want to find a way to force his hand to call pest control, but we've told him that customers complained and that employees are getting sick and he still doesn't care.

I can’t take it.
I have been with this company 14 years. I have done everything they have asked. In year 5 of supporting our business software they asked if I would be interested into moving into full time training to train clients. They gave the job to a manager that wanted out of sales. At this time I had 5 pto days 5. 5 years go buy I ask to move to sales for opportunity for more money and just a health change for me. At 10 years I finally got 15 pto days woot woot awesome. At this time 4 of the bosses kids started working here. And anyone with 1 year automatically gets 15 pto days. I went 10 fucking years. For the last 4 years I have been top sales. Go to every trade show they ask. I asked for a raise because if I was an outside reseller I'd…
The revolution is LONG OVERDUE!
Being more productive and having less buying power and wealth than our parents isn't “five times better off”. Fuck off you sack of shit. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2022/12/27/charlie-munger-stop-complaining-about-wealth-inequality-life-quality.html
I wanna preface this by saying that if you have been affected by southwest cancelling your flight; I hope you understand that I’m not making excuses for southwest. Im just going to try to explain why this was an impending disaster, and why being a pilot sucks Ladies and gentlemen, we have reached a critical shortage of pilots in the US. The FAA estimates that 8,000 pilots are needed to fill the gap. While there are many currently working to be a pilots. The FAA has some of the strictest retirement policies, meaning just as many are retiring. Globally it is estimated this demand will increase to 80,000 pilots by 2032. While flying is often romanticized and seen as a “fun” job, not enough people are attending flight school. What is going on? Becoming a pilot is hard. The FAA guidelines are pretty much standard throughout the world, with Europe…
Resignation Celebration!!!
Sooo, I resigned from my toxic ass job today after not quite a year and it feels oh so freeing. I’d encountered discrimination, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, misgendering, classism, ageism, etc. either directly or indirectly and it was time to cut the cord. For anyone out there who is privileged enough to cut the cord from their toxic ass employer, let this be your motivation. To be clear, if you NEED the money I’d say hold off, but if not it’s giving CLIPPED! Let’s leave the toxicity in 2022. New year, no fear! Buzzfeed, what up!

Neoliberalism has been peddled for years
Hey guys, Hopefully this isn’t the wrong forum. It’s the only work-related space I follow, though if you know somewhere else I should post, please let me know. I’ve been unemployed for over 2 years. For a while it was fine because I was picking up gigs on an app that shall not be named and had a few freelance clients that carried over from my previous company. It wasn’t good money, but I was getting by somehow. Then I got dropped by the app because I missed a gig after getting into a car accident this summer. I even sent them pictures of the car and everything but they said it was against their policy to reinstate someone after missing a gig without timely notice (I didn’t let them know until the next day, which in retrospect was stupid of me but I wasn’t thinking clearly at the time).…
