Full Cringe.
I work as an account manager of a downstream supply chain business. I work 10 hours a day, no WFH nothin and my pay is at the lower end of the spectrum. Lately they have been looking into automation to solve a few overloading issues and found a rudimentary solution which theoretically would have the power to reduce our work timings from 10 to 9 since it literally was taking 1/4th of our dumb admin work. this excited all of us since we could focus on launching new Products and having a More relaxed working environment. But in the words of our CEO ‘let’s make it a bit challenging, you don’t want to be too free now ’. Why is it that managers and CEOs think that unless you’re choc full of stupid work and furiously calling and typing throughout the day you’re somehow not making profits or innovating. Me…
For context, I was having stomach pains and ear ringing due to taking too much ibuprofen for knee pain and decided to call in sick and let it rest for a day, (hence the ‘again’) and got super sick during vacation and asked to come in while on the other side of the country despite giving notice months weeks and days before
Just a reminder that these things exist.
I am going to use myself and my situation as a reference point. I am single/no kids/no debt. I came to the realization that, the most important thing to me is TIME and NEW EXPERIENCES and meetin/dating new Women. I really don't care much for fancy cars or huge houses or material shit. What bring joy to me is experiences, travel, meeting new people, forming new relationships, and doing actual fun activities. I also don't drink. Without getting in too much depth lets get into some numbers. So based on what Ive just said…based on MY PERSONAL INTERESTS. to live my current lifestyle, with rent, food, phone, etc ALL my basic expenses included along with meals out, and doing stuff I like.
