Wants me to teach Special Ed without an endorsement

I have math, science and Health endorsements on my teaching license. You can ONLY legally teach in the area of your endorsements. Last year I got completely burned out doing special Ed. Those who do will understand how much administration and districts take advantage of us. Last year when I renewed my teachers license, I took the special Ed endorsement off. I started the year teaching math and science. Just before winter break, they tell me they are switching me to special Ed math and science since they don’t have enough classrooms for the special Ed students. I remind them I don’t have that endorsement anymore. They say that since I have math and science and HEALTH, they can get a waiver from district so I can teach. (?????) I say, thank you, no, and I will not sign a waiver (because it would be so obviously illegal). End of…

Self-described “cool, funny” boss fired me for calling him “Big Papa”

A few years ago, I had a new job at an IT helpdesk. The boss was very laid back and had a great sense of humor. Or so he said… constantly. Then I got FIRED for calling my boss “big papa”. (I was trying to complement him on being a good leader for our team). He got so angry, he stormed both of us down to HR and he was shaking with fury and indignation when he told me: “i'm NObody's father.” Shaking. Vibrating with rage. I got fired the next day. So much for that laid back sense of humor! Alright, Mr. Painfully Obvious Daddy Issues, see you never.

Today I “worked” from home, but really did nothing besides laundry, shopping and other house chores and no one noticed or complained. Micro management needs to go.

It's the end year's closing and November was a shitshow because everyone wanted to take holidays during the last 2-3 weeks of December, so now I'm left with no one to report to, which is a good thing. It means that all the requests, all the critical tasks that I have are more or less pending approval and I'm just handling daily usual little thingies here and there and have the rest of the day for myself. I chose not to take my holidays now and save them for next year, soemthing my managers agreed to, and I chose to work instead. Asked for permission to switch to full-time WFH, permission granted, and I couldn't be more grateful. They even told me to take it easy and not to work too much during the holidays. Out of the 8 hours shift I had today, I only worked for like 2-3…

My sister was put on an immediate, unpaid leave of absence for asking for accommodations with a doctors note.

Hey y’all, so ima start with saying I’m 21. I’ve been a lurker, mostly just here to remind myself of what’s to come if I don’t focus on me. Right now I am seeking advice. I run my own business with just enough money to pay bills. My overall goal is to provide a safe working environment for workers when I grow older. With this— I understand labor laws. My sister however, works in a distribution center. I’ve had my share of getting f’d over by companies, so, naturally, I want to take this opportunity to F this HR team up. My sister, 24, has a thyroid issue. She was born with it, meaning that she has trouble with weight and is on the heftier size (nothing wrong with that). She eats healthy, takes walks, however the weight stays which has an overall impact on her endurance and joints. Strength…

Told my boss I’m sick but that I’ll still work from home and finish all pending tasks. Later, he blamed me for not reporting an outage that happened in our system.

Background about the company: The company is a new startup and there’s no HR department with proper rules/policies. Background about me: 22M, just graduated early this year, and I’ve been working there for a couple of months and I report to this boss the most. What happened: I had a very high fever today, and I told my boss this morning that I can’t make it to the office, but, that I I’d still work from home and finish all my pending tasks for the day. I have no problem with working while sick, it’s just what he did after that got me thinking of quitting. I did all my work today and closed my PC. An hour ago, an outage occured in our system and I wasn’t able to report the issue to him since (a) I was busy doing some other tasks I was assigned to, and (b)…

Tomorrow I meet with my ‘close’ friend who isn’t aware I am well informed of his betrayl

I was betrayed by a close friend that led to ending a ten year career followed by a three month dose of the old black dog. Months ago I was angry and hateful and wanted nothing more than to see him suffer. Now I only have sympathy for an individual that believed his only opportunity for success was to knife a mate. I know my friend is a good person and I believe that and he did this out of fear for himself but I need him to hear how this affected me because his strategy to date was to complete ignore me and hope I just go away.

the road’s a rink

I'm just really sad. I saved up enough money to get myself a Christmas present – like $30 – but yesterday buses didn't run on the hill and this really old lady needed to get somewhere so I wound up calling her a ride and using that money. now today I can't get into work because the snow routed buses never came, and I have to dig into the pto that I've saved for a really long time so I could take new year off.
