I've worked a lot of different jobs, spent a year working as a disability case manager. This was NOT a non-profit. We have an insane work load that kept increasing, management that was not helpful, essentially no support, high stress, etc etc etc. While I had a very “this is not my problem, my shift is over” MINDSET, it was nearly impossible for me to end my work day when it was supposed to or not do extra work that really wasn't my job. But if I didn't do it then it could potentially mean a person not getting their disability pay cheque on time, not getting their medical treatments reimbursed fast enough, etc. The issue was not that I was slow, or couldn't multi task we were just given so much fucking work. And as much as I wanted to do the bare minimum the guilt was incredibly overwhelming…
Employers have really given me ptsd I am so tired of jumping through hoops. I have an interview in the morning with USPS and it says……… For safety reasons shoes must be completely closed at the heel, toe and sides; they must be constructed of leather or leather like material, with slip resistant outer soles and heels. The heels cannot be more than 1 ½ inches high. Shoes with cloth, canvas, nylon or mesh-woven tops or sides are unacceptable… I have grey suede (which is leather) steel toe slip resistant BRAHMA STELLA shoes from walmart I was gonna wear. But my husband says this won't work , he's thinking black ones like you buy for fast food. DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE AN OPINION????? ARE MY SHOES OK???????
Friday is a half day
Let us rejoice!
Customers wanted to tip us workers but my boss categorize them as donation. There was $90 tips that was categorized as donation. Then the cashier program itself updated to add tips . we had tips that was added on our time card, but was not on our paystub. There was $50 that was on my timecard that's not on my paystub. I only got 80 cents. I asked her that multiple times, all she said was that she doesn't know what to do with the tips. I told her how about to the service we provide to the customers. She doesn't believe it should be for us. She said she'll have to think about it. I told her this since September when the cashier program updated with automatic tipping.
Original Thanks to those who responded. I just wanted to let people know that I did talk with my supervisor and one of the other supervisors (I just felt a little safer with a female present.) My supervisor spoke with the guy and informed him that he absolutely does not speak to the students in that way. The other supervisor (she's not my direct supervisor, but I can still go to her if needed) told me she wants me to email her and her manager so the manager also knows of the situation and it'll be on record. Does anyone know how to write this? I don't want to start off with “here's the email you requested,” but I am not sure how else to word it.
Laid Off 6 Days Before Christmas
I've been there since May. Absolutely loved the company and the product was good. The benefits and pay were out of this world and my manager was incredible. Well, yesterday morning I wake up and try to log in to my laptop and my password isn't working. I go to my phone to post in the company IT Slack to let them know I was having issues and it was deleted from my app. Alright, this is weird but I'm sure it's just some tech issue. NOPE. About 30 seconds after grabbing my phone I get an automated email saying I need to return my laptop. Then an email from my manager with a zoom link comes through. And then they told me they're laying me off. No notice. No PIP. Nothing. It was a decision by the execs and when my manager essentially pleaded with them to wait until…
