I work at a fast food restaurant in the UK. It is awful, but the work itself does not bother me, it's the hours. The shift managers are known for scheduling you whenever they want, regardless of when you say you can work. My availability keeps getting ignored, as it ends at 11:30 but I keep getting scheduled for shifts until 12pm. I can't work any later as I'm under 18, but once you turn 18 managers can schedule you for a close (which ends at 1am, sometimes 2am) regardless of availability. You can ask them not to put you on close, woth a legitmiate reason, but wait 2/3 months and they will start putting you back on them. I know my availability is only a half hour difference, but this affects my parents too, so I've tried changing it to 11pm instead, but this has not been reviewed even…

She promptly told them “no” and left. Fortunately my shift ended roughly the same time and we’re all home now. Her story just pissed me off and…
looking for work?
So I just saw a comment in here from a manager and it was a well thought out solution to a complex problem. It occurs to me that it may be easier to connect to good companies in this forum and wondered if that's a thing we could try to do? My gf is an artist and a plant lover, but she's stuck in the logistics industry and she's finding it hard to stay employed these days because it's so toxic. Would anyone be interested in offering her some graphics design work or know of where she could find inroads to get started? I trust the advice here more than I do elsewhere.
Gotta love it here
Is this the latest trend from those hustle culture guys on tiktok/YouTube? Every other short is some guy pressure washing a drive way and saying how much money they're making.
