is it legal for my boss to refuse me my break if i want to take it later than he said to? hi, im 18yo F. ive been working at my first ever job since october. I work everyday. On monday and friday I work 10am till 6pm . for the rest of the week, i work 10am till 5pm my boss said i must take my break everyday at 1pm. I would rather take my break at 2 or half 2 bcoz of my anxiety. taking my break at 2 or later lessens my anxiety / stress as the day feels like its gone much quicker. not to mention taking my break at 1pm feels way too fast into my shift. my boss doesnt like me taking it any time after 1, and he has said if i take it after 1 again I will not be allowed a…

i don't know if this is alright to post but i'm tired of the cycle of working retail jobs that i hate less than a month into. i want to have time to learn a skill and actually do something more with my life but it hasn't been possible with a 40 hour work week in a concrete box. is there any option for WFH jobs? i'm autistic as well so more socially demanding jobs are difficult but i'll take anything that isn't what i've had to do.
Need help with vacation / sick days
This is my first real job out of college and it’s with a small family business. I’ve been there a few years now and not until last month did I realize that I’m allotted sick and vacation days. Last month the owner told me this, so I’ve been trying to figure out what to do from here. I was very sick a few times this and last year and did miss a lot of work (this is easily documented with hospital visits). He told me that my unused vacation days can’t be rolled over but I’m hoping I can at least recover my sick days. Any help is greatly appreciated.
After months of incompetence from both GM and AGM my coworkers and I wrote a letter to the owner of the company. After less than a month of investigating the GM was terminated and I even got an apology from the owner of the company. We were incredibly understaffed and I was so burnt out and dealing with mental health issues that I left to take care of myself. Since then I’ve been told that things have gotten a lot better and all my old managers were begging me to come back. I had made good progress and therapy so I decided to give it another shot. In my original meeting with my new GM I asked about the AGM and she told me that they would not be overseeing my work and there would be minimal contact with them as they do not work in my department and they…
Follow up on my gift from work today!
Just got my gift y’all. Last night we came in to being told the company opted out of feeding us lunch and got us gifts instead. HR came tonight dropped our bags off and left. Here’s my gift y’all. Also there is a giant logo of the company on the front of of the cup. So I will always know what hell hole I work at
I've worked at this place for 7 years. I had quit once before, but they asked me back and I went back against my best judgment. For the last 11 months I killed myself for that job, destroying both my mental and physical health in the process. I've gone well beyond the scope of my job to ensure the success of the branch. And today I got fired for trying ro calm myself down. The worst part to me is that I just started the process of getting help for my depression. I was literally just diagnosed yesterday. I was so happy to finally be getting treatment. I had it all planned out. Things were looking up. But this asshole had to have a meeting in the middle of a busy work day. He keep asking questions about a survey we took months ago and, no matter what we said,…
Trainee makes more
I’ve been with my company for over 4 years. First time in 3 years I didn’t get a raise. I spent most of this year covering someone else’s job after they quit. Just found out the person I trained this year got a $10k raise and is making more money than me now. Suggestions on how to approach this with my bosses?
