I hope this kind of post is allowed. When I worked in a grocery store, they'd ask questions like “you have 2 hours of overtime. We're not supposed to have any. How could this have happened?” Feigning full ignorance. Like dude YOU closed with me the last two nights. You saw how behind the trucks were on deliveries. YOU were the one who says whether or not we can go home. This isn't rocket science. We're in our busy season and we're short staffed. You can't expect us to be able to straighten up the whole store and unload 2 trucks in an hour and a half. In fact, you weren't upset that we were staying late last night. You're only asking this question because your boss wants someone to answer for it. Now I work in a call center and it's no different. We have metrics we need to…

Signing in using social media.
I was applying for a job at a corporate hospital and the application portal asked me to create an account using my email address, or for convenience, sign in using facebook, apple ID, gmail. Thanks, but no thanks. I’m not giving up my personal online presence, they gotta work for it first.
Why? Because it shows these billionaires who are running these companies are so out of touch with everyday working man, that everyday working man is busting ass with little to no free time to use the social medias they are dumping money in, or just don't care. Not everyone can afford the meta-verse virtual reality they are dumping money into, or they are too busy working. This should be a wake up call to every other company, if you want people to use your product, pay your workers to the point that they have free time to stop and enjoy things. The way it was intended to. Give them the free time to use your products everyday. Instead of working people to the ground to the point of burn out and shitty compensation. Pay us accordingly or dig your own grave.
However, weirdly, we’ve just hired 20 new people in my department alone. It isn’t a real surprise that I’m one of many getting this threat, even though we are not supposed to tell anyone (?). The lease is up for our satellite buildings and corporate has decided we all come back in in January. But there’s not enough desks in our old building. And, even though they’ve had the best profits in their history recently, they cannot afford to keep everyone. I’m not sure how newly hired people fit into this unless they are able to push us out twice as fast as they’re hired. At least we now have expensive custom arcade games. And are allowed to wear anything we want in the office, including pajamas. That will solve everything. This is why people work from home, right? Don’t worry, corporate has spoken to professionals: these millennials just want…

Our current modern culture includes so many unknowns it’s rife with exploitation. At least in prison people know what to expect.
Why do jobs think we care
Seems like jobs want to keep us in a state of anger and fear all the time. I mean I don’t care if I go homeless whatever but they love to make you angry. It’s their happy hour. Especially retail managers act like their shops are Hollywood’s top tier or whatever. I don’t like to lie on resumes because I know there’s an end, anyways this one manager changed into a snobbish attitude when she saw that one of my retail jobs said SEASONAL. It literally said so on the resume and she still got the nerve to ask in a stuck up voice why did I leave so early then she picks apart my appearance just because my resume does not look like a masterpiece from Harvard. She critiques my appearance and blows me off. I don’t know what is it with retail stores thinking they are god tier.…
