I currently work as a security guard and I got a new post where not much goes on. All I do is check if the doors are locked and open the front gate every now and then to let workers in. The first day of the week is easy and none shows up. The rest of the week gets busier but still I don't get a lot of traffic. So I'm going to be playing with my Steam Deck on company time to make the work day go by faster.

I have some annoying things to do like wash an oak barrel, clean the kitchen tiles or general laundry and cleaning my room. Then it hit me – Why would i waste my time on the weekend, huffing and puffying instead of playing video games and relaxing, when i can just do it on monday during work? For all of you working from home of course. They already are trying to grind me down with work, more and more, while trying to guilt me and remark passive aggressive about every little mistake. They wont care if i died from too much work stress, so why..bother? It really makes you think, doesnt it? Why waste my free time when i can waste those assholes'es time? I also had a friend who would bring like a big power bank and charge it at work. He really was something. fuck wagies, fuck work.

So I currently make about 16 an hour because that was the maxed out pay for my position. About two months into the job the company raises the maxed out pay for seasonal employees (they work about it 4 months out of the year just for extra help) to 16 an hour! Now they did not get the full 16 but returning employees got close to it. Now about a year later my company does reviews on the assistants for their raises, I’ve recently learned a guy I worked with same positive makes 17 and some change, I confronted my district manager about it. I told him I want to make what he is making, and he said it’s different because of the pay range when you were hired on.
