As someone with a disability, it feels like most businesses have zero interest in actually putting in effort to accommodate their employees, especially ones who are breaking the Wage Slave Rules™ and opt to let their bodies rest when their chronic illnesses flair up (I.E. needing recurring time off). I am one of those folks and have been trying to find a work place where I don’t feel like a gigantic burden for just existing. If anyone has any sort of suggestions for companies/businesses that actually do seem to care about folks with disabilities, feel free to drop them in the comments! Solidarity to you all!

Anyone here make money from home?
Title, really. I don’t want to pour too much into this post because it may come off as me being a lazy shithead. Which, I guess, isn’t completely wrong in one way or another. But I actually enjoy my job. I’ve enjoyed my job too much for the last 5 years. Yeah, it’s an easy job. The pay is okay, the tips are nice. It’s pretty hard to get out of my comfort zone. I’ve been experiencing a lot of health issues that have been preventing me from work and at the same time have been putting me in financial ruin. I have to quit my job but I can not find another one. I’ve put in 100 applications in the last couple months and I haven’t gotten a single interview. Has anyone else been here? I feel so stuck and I just don’t know what to do with myself…
So I have been working at a golf course for a year and a half now making $17hr. I currently do work for the golf staff. I only open due to the distance from my work. It’s been like that for nearly 2 years. So anyways they told us they added an option to be a caddy for those interested. Initially I told them I was not interested. The boss told me he highly recommended I sign up for the meeting just to check it out, show up on my day off and get paid for a 3-4 hour training/meeting. I forgot I had made an appointment to get work done on my car so I said I would consider going to another one. They end up cancelling it. Now they radio me to come down and ask if I feel like doing some running today. I’m like umm what?…
Can I sue the company?
Hi guys: long story short. I work full time at a company in California which is registered under DIR. According to the law, I am supposed to get 24 hours California sick leave (my work has put up the poster on the board since it’s required by law)without getting questioned if I get sick from vaccine side effects. They are only allowed to ask medical documentation if I exceeded 24 hours. The first day I got sick after getting booster shot, I notified them, and they asked me my vaccination card which I don’t mind to provide. Second day, I was still not feeling well which I had to call in sick, but the on site nurse forced me to come back to work. She said just take Tylenol and come back to work. I told her I had fever at night, and I had body ache and chills which she…
got a lecture for continuing to work
I work at a warehouse, I pick stuff with a wearable. Well my password expired and no supervisor was there until about 1-2 hours after I'm supposed to start. So instead of just standing around I decided I'd just start picking and write down what I have picked. Apparently that's not what I was supposed to do, but so is standing around. I'm kinda confused on why I got into trouble yesterday. Was I in the right to start picking?
I remember my dad leaving the house at 8:30 in the morning for the factory and coming back at 5:30. My mom didn't even have to work and they were able to afford a 3,000 sqft house, two cars, and annual vacations. That was the norm in my town. Now every family needs two full-time breadwinners plus doing insane overtime to afford the same lifestyle, it's insane how people have been accustomed to working themselves to death. Everyone at my workplace begs the boss for overtime and half of the people here have side gigs. And no they are not more well off, most of us live in 500 sqft apartments and take the bus. Same work btw
The not Supervisor
I feel like every workplace has that one person who isn't in charge of anything but feels the need to try to act like it. I just had to put our most egregious one in her place.
