I work as a chef and I was just put on a probation after coming back from a month with mono. I have all the proper documentation and still got hit with this. It's just doubled down that companies don't hire humans they make an investment. As soon as you don't make them 300% labor costs you're expendable. Wouldn't be so bad if our Healthcare wasn't jeopardized as well as our income and shelter. It's a fever dream but I'd like companies to be forced to hire humans and treat them as such. You are not paying for a job to be done, you are paying for a humans time and in that time require them to fulfill a role.
I know other industries are all sorts of messed up and would love to hear others stories. Im just hoping we can fix this mess for our kids at least.
