Hi all,
the company I work for has the bad habit of pushing anything that half resemble a computer (basically also a calculator) to the IT department, and even when told them that we don't know what the thing is, how it works, and to whom they have to speak with, they end up always asking: but can you give it a look?
I cannot scream into the phone to them, given that most of them are higher-up in the chain, or just make them understand the job is not of our competence, so am asking you what else can be done from our side to avoid/prevent it?
In the last hour I've prepared an opening hours office schedule – 8.00-12.00am and 3.00-7.00pm daily, 7 days a week – stating that outside of this hours (still need to have a 24h support time) any call will be evaluated by us before taking it in, and will be announced to the whole company by an informative mail.
