I work for a big bank in corporate America and I’ve been with the company for 5 years. I’ve worked my ass off for this company and was promoted to the next level quickly, received an immediate raise for the new position, and yearly I’ve gotten a meritorious raise for my work. All in all I was making about 5-6 bucks an hour more then the position below me.
Then said big bank decided to give everyone in retail a raise. The position below me now makes 1 dollar an hour less then I do. They did not take any of my raises into account and now I’m at the starting rate for my position again. Their response? “You got a raise too!” (A dollar.)
