Big Boss’s Pep Talk

I work with troubled teens. One kid is particularly challenging and really belongs in a psychiatric facility not residential treatment. I do all the things they teach us about in the training classes and the computer trainings. None of it works. Numerous staff have be injured by this kid. The kid finds it funny. I asked the big boss to send some seasoned employees over so we can observe their interventions in real time because we’re tired of coming to work everyday and having to fight this kid off. The boss told me if he has to come show me how to do my job, he doesn’t need me. He also said the war is over. I wasn’t drafted. I knew what I was sign up for. I care about the kids too much to leave, but “leadership” has me questioning if the toxicity is worth it.
