I'm probably either getting fired or quitting today. Don't have another job lined up but I'm looking right after this is posted. I currently work at a local grocery store, and due to some health issues I ended up calling out a lot when I first started.
I haven't called out for a couple of weeks to a month. Last time I called out I brought a doctor's note for a very bad stomach bug (Literally couldn't leave the toilet. Worst 3 days of my life)
I had to call out today because there is absolutely no one who can babysit my little sibling and my mother has to work a full 12 hours. Called in. Assistant Manager, the guy who makes the schedules, said I had to make some other arrangements because he was bout tired of this and it's come to a head.
So many other people just call in, no doctor's notes or anything. A couple of them are managers. One did it because her other job has an office Christmas party she didn't want to miss.
So I'm not coming in, because I'm not leaving my little sibling by themselves for 8 hours while I go work a job that pays me 13.50 an hour with no guaranteed raises because the managers only make an extra dollar, at a place that is absolutely brimming with drama, and where I'm made to feel guilty for calling in for legitimate issues when people that have worked there forever and a day can call in for the stupidest shit. So many places are hiring it probably won't take me long to find a new job, it's just annoying.
On the bright side, I have a small amount of money saved, so I can help with rent and bills for this month. And I can try and sell some candles for petty cash or smth. And now we have a live in babysitter lol.
