This was months ago, but the title says it all really. My final “shift” was a 3 hour mandatory meeting (which means it is paid). I never saw my final paycheque. He didn't fire me, just said he would call me when he needed people again and then never did.
I was working as a housekeeper, I remember during the meeting he deflected blame for my inconsistent hours onto the desk staff being unfriendly to customers. He actually stood there in front of everyone and blamed them for him being unable to give me more hours, and then fucking ghosted me.
I know my provincial laws, mandatory meetings are paid and termination requires one week notice or a different agreement, obviously this doesn't include ghosting.
No, I haven't texted or called. That job fucking sucked and it's hard not to be glad it's over.
