I don't know what to say. I've been just sitting silently for a while now trying to make sense of the situation, but Its like my brain refuses to believe this just really happened. Let me just start typing, maybe it will help if I just get this out of me. So I am a uni student on paper, but decided to leave after learning my Bsc means nothing abroad ( or domesticly ). I was hired last semester for this small software company. There were lots of things promised back then, none of them were kept. But most importantly: they offered to hire me as a student-intern, so they would have to pay less taxes and would be able to pay me more. and if I really wish to leave the uni next semester they would just hire me. Well the new semester is beginning and it was a fucking lie. They told me that I either pay my tuition to keep my status as a student, or they can't hire me. The part about paying me more: that was also a lie. I'm working as a software developer, and earn less than a janitor. Well I put up with that. And the terrible work environment. And the toxicity of the workplace. And the lack of communication, unreliable boss, getting blamed for everything, colleagues who throw you under the buss to save their ass etc. Well yesterday I told my boss I registered for the new semester, today he sends me a MESSAGE that he reviewed my hours. He claims we agreed that I would do 6 hours a day, which is not true. He claims that I sign in 8 hours on an average day, which is not true. And that he doesn't feel like I worked that much, so he will only pay me 4 hours/day for the last month. Now, know some of you will tell me I better call Saul, but the thing is: I am technically a student, and he is legally the one responsible for billing and reporting my hours on the monthly basis. I can't prove how many hours I spent on the tasks I've done. I looked up my emails, and everything he promised, he did so verbally. He didn't do anything illegal I can prove. I don't know what to do. I read all the the terrible things people do in this sub, I never thought one day I would be posting here. All I can think of is trying to cancel my registration to the semester, hopefully my student loan wasn't applied for. I am gagged and robbed, and there is nothing I can do.
