Boss keeps telling us to park were several car break ins have happened

For context, i work in a section of a ritzy club were member fees to join are around $7,000. We have several sections, such as the restaurant and the fitness center for sale of example, that are all for the most part independent of each other, but we all use the same facilities (bathroom, locker room, parking, etc). Safe to say the place makes bank. I've worked her for just about a year, and the official rule is all employees are supposed to park at a church parking lot next door instead of our actual parking lot. In the time I've been here, 5 car break-ons have occured to our employees. 3 more to members, one of those 3 resulted in one car being stolen entirely. Due to this, we've been allowed to park in the clubs lot up until recently where they are trying to have park over there…

The club has not done much to stop these break ins. They “said” that there hired more security for the lot. A week later 2 of the now 5 break ins occurred in one shift. They now have installed new bright lights at the lot and say that security has been increased. However, I do not trust this at all, considering the history. The damage done to break in isn't light either, people have had their windows smashed to bits from these.

However, our boss is threatening disciplinary action on anyone who refuses to park over there and is caught parking in the main lot.

does anyone have any advice on what we can do? Is this legal even?
I'm currently trying to leave, but I don't want to see my coworkers continue to have their property damaged and possessions stolen.
