Boss requiring me to help him move

We’re moving to a new office next week. Today I was told that next Monday I can wear whatever I want because we’re going to be going “back and forth, back and forth” moving heavy things all day. We’re talking computer monitors, monitor arms, keyboards, etc. in addition to some lighting equipment and large artwork.

I have a few problems with this:

  1. He never asked
  2. I’m not a mover
  3. It’s a holiday
  4. All equipment is high dollar

I need this job for the next 6 months or so can’t just flat out tell this guy to kick rocks. However, he constantly flaunts his wealth so he could absolutely afford movers. This is his idea of a “power play” as he is known for trying to manipulate his employees.

I’m in a “right to work” state with very little protections as an employee. How would you get out of this if you were me?
