I’m not going to divulge too much information but I work at a local restaurant with Father’s Day being a very busy day. Over email, we were promised time and a half for everyone that worked today.
Admittedly it was my fault for getting sent home because I gave a customer a to-go box when I knew it wasn’t allowed for today because we had a buffet instead of normal service. I thought it was bull that they couldn’t at least take the food that they left on their plates after paying for such an expensive buffet and gave them a box anyways. I got ridiculed in front of customers, told to pack my stuff and clock out, and that I wouldn’t be given time and a half. All over a to go box.
First of all, is it legal to rescind time and a half.
Second of all, I’m so fucking mad lmao. My last day is in a week— I don’t even want to show up anymore. They had the audacity to tell the customer that I wasn’t fired but I just needed to be “taught a lesson?” How fucking old am I?
