When describing someone they were considering hiring, my boss devolved into a tangent on how I was not the first choice for my position. Someone was poised to get it instead apparently and they were the perfect candidate and that all of the higher ups loved them for it. The only reason it didn’t work out is because of their schedule.
This occurred in a meeting of my peers and I was completely taken aback. I am an extremely hard worker and put 100% of myself into what I do. I feel extremely under appreciated and demotivated now.
