Boss unfairly using my stock options to dismiss requests

Hello everyone, I wanted to share a situation I've been facing at work. In my small company, I am the only one with a stock option. During my yearly review, everything seemed positive, except for the fact that my salary raise was below the inflation rate. Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a situation I've been facing at work. In my small company, I am the only one with a stock option. During my yearly review, everything seemed positive, except for the fact that my salary raise was below the inflation rate. When I asked for an explanation, they simply said, “You have a stock option.” This seems to be their go-to response whenever I inquire about benefits that are not currently available.

This situation has left me feeling apprehensive about negotiating for anything else. I also feel pressured to contribute more than my colleagues due to the leverage they have with my stock options. Additionally, they made promises about allowing me to participate in exhibitions and conferences for networking and presenting, but this never materialized. I'm hesitant to remind them of this as well, and I'm even contemplating the idea of leaving the company.

I'm seeking your perspective on whether I might be overreacting in this situation. I appreciate any advice or insights you can offer.
