Boss won’t respect my availability – then gets mad when I can’t come in.

I haven't even been with the company 6 months yet, and before I got hired I made it very clear that I couldn't do early shifts. It's pretty much impossible for me to even get there. The boss of course initially seemed understanding and scheduled me for the later shifts – and I'd always show up on time and be told how good of a job I had been doing. Never had any issues as far as I knew. Then the boss started saying that I needed to show up for the early shifts so I could “see” the rest of how things functioned. I made it clear again that I really cannot do early shifts as they don't work with my schedule. The boss insisted it'd be a once and done thing, and I begrudgingly came in on my one day off for the early shift. Of course, no…

Of course, no actual training was done during this time – I was doing all my usual tasks and shown nothing new. I ended up overhearing that the boss had been slacking and needed extra employees to come in that day so he could finish what he was days late on.
Things returned to usual and I worked without any issues. Then the boss schedules me for another early shift and there was no way I could get there. I verbally told him this and was told that it was on the schedule and I was expected to be there.
No surprise, the shift comes and I can't show up. The boss sends me a nasty text saying we “agreed on this” and “it's my duty” and my “behavior is unacceptable”.
My other coworkers had informed me that there was more than enough people working that shift and said it was best to not come in because he knew the boss wouldn't show me and have me do my usual duties anyways.

So I'm exhausted mentally and physically. I'm not sure how to proceed. I'm sick and tired of these companies just wanting more and more from us, not understanding the meaning of “no” , and thinking we have nothing else going on outside of the job. Of course, the job doesn't even pay much. Of course other coworkers regularly are late or don't even call in and slack at their jobs and nothing ever happens to them.

I'm really gonna be trying to save up money so I can leave. This isn't worth it.
