I worked in a toxic environment where my lead consistently abused everyone, but my boss (VP of a hospital) and the C-Suite love her. Anyway, after I put in a THREE weeks notice, my lead was SO ANGRY because some people were talking about why so many people left since my lead started. I was the longest lasting employee under her (10 months).
On the Friday of the week first week of my notice, I was scheduled to get my wisdom teeth removed. This has been scheduled 3 months before and my boss and lead were VERY MUCH aware of it.
On Wednesday, I packed SOME of my items because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to carry too much after my teeth removal.
Right before anesthesia on Friday, HR called me and asked if I was coming back since I packed ALL MY STUFF. I was so confused and frustrated, especially after all the harassment and abused. I knew it was my lead who reported me.
I could barely fall asleep for anesthesia. On Monday, I took a picture of my desk and went to ask HR if she sees my desk as empty. I said it in a rude tone. She apologize to me and told me that the admin assistant called her. I went to email the assistant and she said that it was my fault because I didn’t tell my team. I told her that my team already knew and I have documentations. I stopped the conversation because the assistant, coworker, and boss were collaborating.
I quitted before my notice ended. I took a few months off and haven’t been able to find a job. Could my reaction affected it?
