Called in on Day Off

This happens to me constantly, sometimes three or four times per week. I’m also expected to work evenings and weekends (busiest times) because coworkers with kids claim they “can’t” I worked on Halloween, thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and got called in on Christmas. And then my boss called me in on New Years after they already gave me the day off (someone scheduled called out). They tried to guilt trip me by saying my coworkers were alone and so understaffed and it was so busy….I mean I felt bad but can’t one of the other employees come in for once????? I never call out, but I’m always the first one they contact to fill in last minute when someone does. Probably because I always said yes. And now they are beginning to resent me and get cold towards me when I say no. My boss called me in on New years…

I worked on Halloween, thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and got called in on Christmas.

And then my boss called me in on New Years after they already gave me the day off (someone scheduled called out). They tried to guilt trip me by saying my coworkers were alone and so understaffed and it was so busy….I mean I felt bad but can’t one of the other employees come in for once?????

My boss called me in on New years to fill in (I said no). And now she randomly asked me to come in at 4:00pm until midnight tonight.

I said no and she just responded about how busy they will be, trying to guilt me. Then she never replied to my response (seemingly frustrated by me).

I guarantee you she’ll ask me tomorrow as well. And everyone acts like I’m some selfish loser with no life who is just lying in bed and lazily refusing to come in. Just cause I don’t give them some sob story excuse or have children. I got in a huge fight with my father yesterday and my eyes are very swollen from crying. I’m behind in schoolwork and other work I was completing for a museum I volunteer with.

And even if I were just lying in bed doing nothing, I shouldn’t feel guilt tripped to go in when I’m not scheduled. Especially when I NeVER call out, I work all the shitty weekend and holiday shifts, and I cover so many times before. I don’t even need this job, so go ahead and fire me I was using it for experience on my resume and wanted 10 hours per week but I’m being guilt tripped in to doing 60 hours
