My wife just told me that to get her yearly raise she has to sign a piece of paper stating that she will not talk to anyone about how much her raise is or how much she makes per hour. She isn’t allowed to take a picture of the paper either because they make them sign it right then and there. I know talking about wages is protected but don’t know anything about this subject matter. Is this legal at all?
Edit: We live in Mississipi, my main question is if it is illegal to withhold a raise pending a signature on a document stating they can't talk about wages.
