I’m in a pretty tight financial situation right now, so unfortunately I had to take the first warehouse job that wanted me. It's sort of like an assembly line, where my team gets an order, we grab the small items off of shelves in front of us, and throw them in a box being passed down. The work itself isn’t difficult, though the company has a LOT of issues. I’m looking for a better job, but until then…
The biggest issue I’m dealing with is the hours. I can deal with 8 or 10 hours a day, sometimes 12. But I have been warned that every now and then there will be BAD days where everyone stays 14-16 hours, which I just cannot do.
I live in the USA. Does anyone know if a doctor at an urgent care can give medical restriction notes, saying that I can only work up to 12 hours a day? My primary care doctor doesn’t have any appointments available for like three months, and he won't give me a note without seeing him first.
I even have a good reason for it other than exhaustion—my shoulders are in constant pain because I have to reach for things way above my head. For whatever reason my shoulders have always been prone to weakness and injuries. And I can't get a stool because, with the fast pace we go, it would be more of a tripping hazard than a help.
I appreciate you all for reading this! I hope you have a good day!
