I've been stuck at the same shit gas station job for the last 2 years. Can't get my social security card because I don't have identification, but I can't get my birth certificate because I don't know my father's information. Colorado a closed record state, so they won't tell me his name.
I also live out of state, making it even harder to get. As they only do online orders, I can't fill out or in person appointments.
I'm basically a slave at my job. I'm unable to quit, or I'd be homeless and other places won't hire me without documentation
I see no way out unless I get my birth certificate. I can't even get a new ID if I lost mine because I wouldn't be able to provide proof I am me.
I understand how hard it is to be homeless and get a job. I have an apartment and a job, and I still feel powerless
I feel worthless and I don't want to exist in the society anymore.
