Careers event had me laughing inside

I’m a teacher (in the UK) and our year 9s (13/14yo) had a careers event on Friday. Quite a few good points were made, including about remote learning, but of course it also included one of the speakers saying “if your work starts at 8, get there at 7.40, don’t show up when you start, always turn up before.” I couldn’t say anything but internally I was laughing – our school starts at 8.30 and it’s rare for me to arrive before 8.29, and I leave pretty much exactly when our directed time ends each day. I know most of the other staff do that too. I’m glad the rest of the event gave actually good advice and information, but I found it very funny considering how most of the teachers here work to their hours and no more!
