Advice on how to not feel guilty about leaving job

I am a college student and have been offered a amazing summer job opportunity. That being said, I am wondering how I don’t feel guilty about leaving my retail job as I am a huge help to this company and one of the main people that work (I don’t have any special job labels that are different from my peers, just a regular retail worker that goes out of their way to help tremendously).

Can anybody help me with my paycheck problem?

So I just started a new job and I got a paper check. I wrote mobile deposit only on the back and did a mobile deposit thru my banking app. They rejected it multiple times and now I can't use the feature anymore. My bank is VARO so it's only an online bank. I went to amscott, the check cashing store, etc and they can't cash it. I asked my employer and they can't reissue another check. Can anybody help me get it cashed?

I have a doctors order, work doesn’t want to follow it. Help?

Hey all. Last time I posted here it was not well received. I was being goofy and not anti work. Also if this is a wrong place and you can redirect me, please do. Now here's the thing, I DO love my job. This is the best job I've ever had, and this is my longest so far- 2 years next month. I started as a temp and they hired me even with all my bullshit. I'm ADHD and I've had more jobs than years on this earth. I cannot stress how wonderful this job is. Still a low wage but as an ADHD person its been the first job I've felt secure in and not hatred or rage quit. ANYWAY on to my dilemma. I was hit by a car in 2017 and my hip is fucked. I need a stand up desk. 3 years ago I worked at…

Retail has been hell on my mental health

I'm a college dropout that's been moving from job to job trying to find anything that doesn't make me want to die and it hasn't happened. Every job I've had has made me feel sub human. The title says retail but I've also worked in food service and manufacturing and those were just as bad (worse in some cases). My current job has gone to hell because the manager I liked is quitting because the job has caused her mental health issues (who would have guessed) and the new manager wants to clean house and get rid of a bunch of people. I'll either get fired or quit this one soon and I'll be back to square one. I know work isn't the only reason for my poor mental health but it is absolutely a factor. I just don't know what to do at this point. I have no real…

There’s got to be more than this?

About a year ago I made the decision to leave the Armed forces. Now having left I’m wondering if it was the right decision. Well maybe not, but the Army was a catch 22. Sometimes I would get messed about with no say in the matter with what days or hours I worked. But the vast majority of my days were really easy work. Fast forward to my first civilian job. I signed a contract for full time at 40 hours a week. But apparently this is just ‘basic hours’ and the job is seemingly for way more with start times at 6/7am and then not finishing till around 6pm. 5 days a week. I’m finding it hard to understand how this is a 40 hour job. How do people prioritise their free time to actually live in the 4 hours each evening before I have to go to bed…

Sorry senior techs

Let's have a laugh at Randstand for saying no senior techs. I really hate these emails though because we know they actually don't check resumes.

unabashed ass kissing even when the company gives you nothing *rant*

This is just a rant about how people in corporate America continue to boot lick, even when it alienates coworkers and doesn't improve anything about their position in the company. My somewhat new coworker is an admin (I'm a step above his title, but still pretty lowly). From what I understand, he's had some better positions that paid more, but he became dissatisfied and quit a previous job. He's middle-aged. Evvveryone loves this coworker. He recently won an award for his sparkling attitude. When a coworker gave the award and read his praise, she remarked how great his favorite catch phrase is, which is “I got this family!” Family. Uck. Recently, I was sitting at my desk, when a coworker of a more senior level asked me for a marker. Admin coworker immediately flipped his drawer open and brandished his stash of markers – “this one? “like that one?” Senior…

All this “resume advice and building” is just stupid

… because it all comes down to ONE recruiter or HR opinion. I am trying to find a better job and stressing out because I have to read/research all this “resume” nonsense. I updated LinkedIn to “best advice” (including a corny summary). I want a good job. I am tired of constantly starting over. But none of it literally matters because if it's just based on one opinion or a dumb software designed to reject resumes if your company name was quarter inch to the left. This is dumb. It shouldn't be like this. I shouldn't have to swallow utter nonsense just to get a good job. I already DO well at jobs. They can see I have experience. They could call my job and find out I did great work. They could talk to me and find out.

almost the whole front line called out today.

I work retail. Co worker warned me to call in because we have no staff (I have been going through a lot physically and mentally, hence the warning). My position at my job i am expected to be kind of like a supervisor, without being one( or the pay). Basically, They use us self checkout attendants as mini supervisors. I called in and they said “nope, not allowed, everyone else called out.” Oh yeah? I wonder why. Listen, If the whole store is calling out what does that say about the company? I am not going into work to pick up everybody elses slack. I have been doing this for weeks because of short staffing. I honestly don’t care if they fire me at this point. It’s so toxic. It sucks because I am comfortable at this job however it’s obviously time to leave and find a new one.

I keep getting automatic invitations to apply from employers for positions I am in no way qualified for and know what?

I'm applying for them all. Best case, I wind up with an opportunity I previously considered out of my league. Worst? Well, they're wasting my time by sending me irrelevant positions to apply to, might as well waste theirs by actually doing it. They can have fun reviewing that application
