Category: Antiwork
I work in automation. Depending on the project I could have to travel for a week, or several months with just every other weekend at home. I get OT sure, I get paid for my time spent in the car or in the air. I get reimbursed for all my expenses. But fuck….I got married in October and have been on the road more or less non stop since November. I can feel it doing damage to our relationship, but what else is it screwing up?
Yesterday I decided to check my 401k account through work and when I logged on and looked at the statements I noticed that for the past three quarters the statements said my employer never deposited my match money (3% of my gross). After seeing that I decided to take a closer look to see what was going on and discovered that the money being taken out of my pay was more than the amount deposited into my 401k account. I tried contacting hr/the company but they just keep giving me the run around I was wonder if there was any legal way to make them take action or who I needed to talk to or if I should get a lawyer I’m really unsure where to go from here
Time to take a page out of the French’s book and strike! The strike has its own subreddit and the first day is set to be May 12th. While this particular strike has a focus on women and the myriad of laws impacting our rights to our bodies, etc> and women are a part of the anti-work community. Strike for your sisters and your fellow co-workers! Don’t engage in commerce, strike peacefully, stay home or gather. But demand an end to this ridiculousness. I will be adding links shortly. Which makes it really difficult for me to work and function. When im at work i feel so alone and dont talk…
Advice on quitting current position
Hi, everyone! Before I start – I know it sounds a bit ridiculous to be worried about my father’s opinion as a 28 year old, independently-living woman, but here we are. I need some advice on how to communicate to my father that I quitting my current position making $100k for a position making $50k. This change will have me in a tight spot budget-wise, but with some financial planning and cutting costs, I should be okay. I’m quitting this job because I work 50+ hours a week and spend the whole time being talked down to, told I’m an idiot for asking for help, and denied PTO that I have rightfully accrued. Example – I asked for half a day on a Tuesday in MAY off back in February and my boss denied it for no reason other than, “another person on the greater team will be out that…

Offer accepted however
I got an offer a week ago from a great company and accepted. My background check is completed and my starting date is Monday. Today I got an offer from a better company for 30% more that’s located significantly closer to where I live. I don’t want to burn the company I got the initial offer from but I really don’t have a choice. Is it ever ethically too late to decline an offer once accepted? Plus I really like the hiring manager.
