Back in September I accepted a job with a company that's relatively close to what i used to do. There have been a number of things that have convinced me to GTFO as soon as I possibly can, not the least of which is the abusive behavior by management, but this one took the cake. Most people in my dept work 7-3:30, but during tax season, it can be much more. Right now we're at a brief lull until the next form-type deadline. Most of us were not working OT today, except myself, and only because of the below completely throwing me off track for an hour. Just after 1pm, we get a meeting invite for 2pm. As the title says I’m in a unique position. I was hired on 6 months ago and since then have been trained to do the work of 3 people. I’m at the point where I am the only one that is capable of doing this work at the company. My workload has increased significantly as well. As it’s the end of the quarter today, management all planned to take today off, leaving me to manage other teams while twice the amount of work of 3 people to get our numbers in before the end of the day. I’ve only had positive reviews here. Im also moving in about 6 months and the company doesn’t know. I’m thinking that since I am so essential now, that I have the leverage to ask for a pay raise. I’d love to hear any experiences. Thank you!
I work in the US and am coming back to work after a leave of absence. I gave my workplace accommodation documentation to HR who gave the minimal amount of information to my manager to let him know. My manager cc'd me and HR stating that he was cc'ing the head admin of our department so she could be aware of the accommodations as well. The accommodations are very minor and will not be noticeable by anyone in the workplace. Is this even allowed? I've reached out to HR at this point, but I am not okay with this. It should be noted that when I spoke to this admin previously about potentially taking a little time off for my health, they guilted me, saying that I'd be letting my team down, and asked if I could even do my job if I had my health condition. This is an update to my other post about my manager changing my clock out time and lying through his teeth about it. TIL version of the story so far I work 10:30pm-6:30am. Always on time. Always leave on time or later (overtime) checked my timecard on the ADP app. It said I clocked out at 5:14am on the 18th. Which is not right, I know I left 6:40am that day. Coincidentally the same 72 hours I submitted an OSHA complaint and they got fined this happens. I also was about to go into over time. The money I was missing I NEEDED for rent. I worked for it. So, as my manager wasn't helping besides saying someone must of accidentally used my clock in number (found out that was a lie) he couldn't tell me who or where, which would all be tracked via ADP. Job making me drive a CMV without a CDL
I need help figuring out what to do. I work in a mountain bike park and there is a shuttle service they offer that can hold up to 19 people(driver included). According to my state law, any vehicle made to carry 16 or more passengers including the driver would require me to have a class c cdl. My employer said that it is just part of my job description and I have to drive it, but I don’t want to get in legal trouble for driving a CMV without a CDL. I also am worried about being responsible for that many people and their equipment. What would be the best way to approach my employee about this situation(keeping in mind that they already shrugged me off when I mentioned it before)?
So I just started a job but I absolutely hate it. My supervisor is a miserable bitch who gets off on being a “mean girl”. She is immature, rude. petty and a micromanager to the extreme. The office culture is so toxic It doesn't help that this is an extremely small office/team. I cannot wait to get another job before I quit. Has anyone else quit a job without another lined up? How did it work out for you and how long did it take you to find something else?
Wanted to start off saying I am an hourly employee and not salary. For the past 3 weeks I needed to do some work over the weekend for the C-suite officer. C-suite offer lets me know I can WFH over the weekends but I need to clock the hours. Awesome sounds like a good deal! My manager overheard this and let me know that she needed to confirm and verify if this was ok. Lo and behold she came back to me and said “I was not allowed to WFH, it was unfair to the department” because the other staff are doing the work in office. Being honest I will clock 2 hours at home to finish up all the work if put my best foot forward then move forward with enjoying my weekend.
