Volunteer for the peace corps and they pay you enough to eat, stay housed and clothed, modest entertainment and healthcare. If you'd be better off in the Peace Corps than at your job, you're being exploited to make your bosses richer while you take on debt to survive.

I have to commute to work 5 days a week and pay about 80 dollars for gas per week. People who could afford 60k Tesla and those who works from home can save much more money compared to those who do not have electric cars and can’t work from home. How much will this high gas price further widen the gap between the rich and working class?

I just wanted to take a minute to shout out my awesome boss. I’m a scientist pursuing my PhD (I could go on for hours how academia is extremely exploitive of its students). My wife has recently been having health problems and when I let my boss know that it may be difficult to hit some deadlines because of this he immediately told me to take all the time I need, that my family’s wellbeing was more important and that anything he could do to support me he would. This is how it should be. Too often I’ve seen people lose their jobs or have to fight with their bosses to get the time they need.

Hi just wanted to vent a lil’. Lately my department has been really behind because of how short staffed we are. Before this had happened, my manager had a meeting with me as I wanted to discuss compensation for my new role of trying to keep the department afloat. She expressed to me many times that she did not want to hire new people, despite being short staffed and implied she wanted me to take up more of a leadership role. I told her that the pay I was getting would not compensate for that. To which she replied she’s wants to see my performance first before reevaluating my pay.
