Money is a game and a ladder we climb, It can turn a saint into a sinner with his finger in crime, Technology has helped so many people save so much time, But the corporations they work for are like “mine, mine, mine” Instead of better compensation or more free time They're expected to do more work for less pay, that should be a crime. I'm afraid our generation might be the last, Having children might become a thing of the past, Under this system where were expected to to work so fast, I fear and wonder how long can humanity last? It's true that the current system can be unjust, Where profit is prioritized over human trust. But we must continue to strive for change, To build a better world, a more equitable range. We can fight for workers' rights and fair pay, And create a system where everyone has a…

Fired for speaking up – Lush Cosmetics
Is this normal behavior for a workplace?
So this is my second job I’ve ever had. (17 F). Basically, today I was told to put the day I have my graduation ceremony on the calendar. I asked about a vacation I have coming up for my birthday (in early April). She said I should have told her my vacations before I was hired and that I need to put it in ASAP. But she also said that I need to put it in two weeks in advance and we have like 4 weeks until April so I thought it was fine I guess. She said that April 1-8th no one is allowed to take time off. Can companies do that?
Tired of this endless cycle
It’s so frustrating that the only thing I can do after I clock out of my 10 hour shift, make the 1.5 hour drive home, and feed my cats is fall right in bed. No time for hobbies, barely have time to do laundry, haven’t taken a vacation in 6 years. And sometimes I just dream of having a rich persons reason for checking into the hospital, like exhaustion, but knowing that will probably bankrupt me keeps me from even considering it. I spend so much time sleeping to take my mind to a place where life isn’t a constant March towards laboring away until I die. Has it always been like this? Is it worse now? I wonder sometimes what happened to that 17 year old who thought she was going to change the lives of students when she graduated from college. Now all I see is college, medical,…
His lowest paid employee makes $5 an hour, some make $8-10, the highest paid employees only make about $20. Anonymous account but I just wanted to talk about how insanely evil that was
New owners have ruined everything
Going to go on a bit of a ramble here as need to vent. I've worked at my current company for nearly 15 years. In that time I've worked my way up into a management position and have worked in various different admin departments. The company's value has gone up by over 20 times since I started. There's been around 20-30 key members of staff including me largely responsible for that – I worked through Covid when many others were furloughed and I've spent many evenings and weekends doing unpaid overtime. The thing is I never really minded as I largely appreciated and was supported by my fellow colleagues and managers who often did the same. That is until a year ago our company was bought out by an investment company. They have the goal to increase us in size fivefold in the next 3 years and then sell us.…
Group chats! Ugh
I work part time at a health and wellness clinic and our group chat is driving me fucking nuts. One of the bosses is in there plus 6 receptionists. The (hands off) boss will text us about errors or billing mistakes or chasing patients for no show fees and how it all needs to be better when most of us aren't working at that time. I wake up in the morning (I work late) to dozens of texts about mistakes and critiques and issues and it makes me feel like this shitty part time job is on my mind 24/7. I'm also a full time freelance journalist / content writer so I don't have time for this shit. I'm also not making a lot of misdates but the rare time I do it's brought up in the chat and I feel like I have to stop what I'm doing an…
