I’m a huge fan of the man and his insights and thought process. Somehow this sub is in my feed A LOT. Most posts I can certainly see the motivation behind, especially when it’s an example of a bad manager, or goofy policy enforced in a terrible way. So; for those that are aware of him and his work; would you work for a company that took his teachings and applied them faithfully? From where I sit; it seems most are frustrated by how companies are run as opposed to the idea of work itself. Thoughts?

Is there a way to get out of doing them and receiving a job? Last decent job I had, the interview process consisted of one phone call and a basic informal video chat for a remote job that paid £36k a year which was easy. Unfortunately the department I was a line manager for was made redundant in July 2022. Since then I did some part time jobs for survival. I have not worked since January 2023 because I am rejected even for basic cleaning or waitressing jobs. Other jobs have a 3 interview process, last one being a one hour video interview with the CEO and these jobs are not well paid 30k basic. I dont get why i have to spend hours on researching a company and learning the products etc when i may not even get the Job. Do these CEOs not have better things to do…

I'm reading through all this sub and you won't have half the hiring nightmares yall do if you make finding your next job someone else's job. Just start reaching out to recruiting agencies for your field and talk to them, send them your resume and get yourself in their system. They find jobs and get back to you with them, and the good ones even fight for your salary and are very knowledgeable about the rates. Seriously before you just report this post for not being about hating my job, go talk to recruiters, worst case you lose an hour or 2 of your time.

So my boss has been…kind of a menace lately. Just really cold and rude and every day I’m liking fearing I’ll be fired. I have so much stress, I’ve been missing my periods, and I’m also going through a cancer thing right now. So just a lot. There was no real reason why my boss has started acting this way, at least that I can pinpoint. I’ve asked a million times if I could perform better or doing something different, and they always say no. We used to have such a great relationship, but now I’m scared of them. Like actually terrified. So they asked me if I did something the other day, so I quickly sent an email to start the thing, and I then lied and said yes I already did it.
