It’s gotta be a joke asking employees to recruit for a school district without getting any type of benefits for it? It’s not like teachers already have a shitload on their plate. Why not just use them even more.
My Boss Exploded
After the third resignation in two weeks, due to overwhelming workload and staffing shortages, he stormed out of his office, barking at us to gather around. He launched into a blistering tirade, his voice echoing through the office. “Mike's gone? Great! Just goes to show that nobody wants to roll up their sleeves and put in the hard work these days! Life's not easy and people like Mike need to realize that! He wants weekends off when we're already understaffed? Please! He says it's for family issues? Give me a break! Just hire a babysitter! You guys are the only ones keeping this place afloat.” His words hit us like a ton of bricks, and we looked at each other in shock. Two hours later, another employee quit, unable to handle the pressure.
Is it just me, or is some asshole at corporate getting off on making chains play shit like this? I know damn well those employees didn’t pick this. Lyrics below.. “Somedays won't end ever And somedays pass on be I'll be working here forever, At least until I die, dammed if you do, dammed if you don't I'm supposed to get a raise week, you know damn well I won't. Shorted 8 hours of OT in SoCal
I am a security guard in Southern CA and I worked a 16 hour shift with no notice. I cannot leave my work site without someone taking over the site. They had me work 4 PM to 8AM of the following morning. Said morning of, I clarified with my district manager that it would be paid as OT with the proper numbers laid out by me. He agreed. They are now not paying me overtime since the 2nd half of the 16 hour shift crossed through midnight as the work day is defined as 12 AM-12 AM. Which literally forces me to work any OT passed my shift as straight time. I have already spoken to the labor commissions office and they have backed up my job's claim. Any ideas on how to fight this? There are also cases in CA which describe this situation as being “afoul of the…
I usually have 2 days off, now I’m at 1.
my job used to be the only thing that i took pride in. i dropped out of school really young, spent a year lazing around the house feeling incredibly mentally ill and incapable of doing much of anything- and then decided to get a job. i was surprisingly stupidly good at it. i make the specific fast food chain i work for look like an olympic sport. i make it look like an art form. i have poured blood, sweat and tears into mastering this job. i had just turned 17 back then, i am 23 now. for over 5 years of my working life, it’s been this same restaurant. this same franchise. in these 5 years i was introduced to drugs as an impressionable child by my adult managers, sold prescription drugs (and meth!) on camera, worked dozens of ten hour shifts with no break as a minor, worked…
She says that I need to “grow up” and “start pulling my own weight”. I tried telling her that she was just spewing capitalist propaganda but she wouldn't listen. She says if I don't she's going to kick me out. How do I respond here?
